World athletics has reacted to the situation created by the excesses of artificial favorables conditions used in the Ramona discus competitions.RAMONA .  . They have produced new qualification rules and cut the pear in half with a compromise . The Ramona performances will still be recognised as records and be counted in the rankings BUT the direct qualification standards will have to be achieved in proper stadium and competition conditions . Of course it’s not perfect and people will probably try to argue about the allowed places and competition conditions . But it is ”excluding” nobody and eventually increases the qualification chances of the non Ramona throwers . Let’s wait and see how the compromise will work before rejecting it . But we think that a bit of common sense is always a step in the right direction.
