Sht 75 TOKYO 2025 World champs SHOT PUT Men

Without KOVACS missing the American selection , OTTERDHAL missing the qualification , PIPERI and AWOTUNDE only 6th and 7th with performances below their best standards ; CROUSER was this time the only American thrower to make it to the podium and achieved an historic 3th world champion title to add to his 3 Olympic titles and world records. An exceptional achievement for an exceptional career but he was rather lucky to win this time , more than 1m under his world record, when no other competitor could get a throw over the 22m line . In fact he was himself in danger with only at 21.99m until the 5th round where he secured the gold with 22.34m.  The surprise came the unexpected Mexican MUNOZ in the 6th round 21.97m PB who stole the silver medal from the Italian FABBRI 21.94m and left the unlucky NZL Tom WALSH on the grass with also 21.94m. The top 8 in the final was 21m and the qualification for the top 12 was ”only” 20.38m with the 2nd NZL thrower Nick PALMER very close to make it (20.18m 15th)  when Jacko GILL was absent due to an injury.
