A great  javelin competition , even if no one of the throwers managed to get one over 90m . The remarkable fact fact was about the 3 Indian throwers who succeeded  to get into thew …top 6 !!! What a great team result . And of course , they had also their charismatic leader Neeraj CHOPRA . Hard to do better since the Finns were dominating the world javelin scene. And confirmation of the European decline compared to new emerging countries . There was also a certain NADEEM from Pakistan who was not there to just make the numbers . Germany , so dominant these last years was reduced to one thrower Julian WEBER who did not make it for a medal as the solid Czech  VADLEJCH was again the most reliable of the European throwers and manage to get another medal behind CHOPRA and NADEEM . CHOPRA was expected to win and he did it in the 2nd round with a 88.17m throw . The Belgian HERMAN , who had thrown over 87m earlier in the season had to satisfy with a top 12 result. You had to throw 86.67m for Bronze , 82.29m for top 8 and 79.78m to get through the qualifications . The French  Félise VAHAI SOSAIA did not make it with the excuse of a recurrent Achilles problem and finished 28th with 74.80m .
