On the making One should not underestimate the Japanese javelin throwers , especially since Haruka KITAGUCHI has become the regnant women world champion. There is a long time javelin culture in the country of the rising sun . Usually the Japanese thrower have a very aggressive way of throwing and they are solid enough to finish their throw relatively well with some ”kamikaze” like approaches ! They also know that when you want to put everything you have in your throwing , you have to make sure that you control your javelin properly . And this is what they did at the NZL Sir Graeme Douglas international meet in Auckland in their Olympic qualification quest . Not the top of the international level of the event but still very good performances opening for possible qualifications , especially for both winners Yuka SATO 59.23m beating the NZL local star Tori PEETERS in the women competition . And for Ryohei ARAI winning the men competition with a good 83.37m beating not only his countrymen SUZUKI (78.50m) OGURA (75.66m) and SAKIYAMA (74.80m) when the French Lukas MOUTARDE (6th 73.84m) and Felise VAHAI SOSAIA (7th 73.01m) were really outperformed .
