This was certainly not the best world women hammer final we have ever seen. But still an interesting competition . In fact it was a complete defeat of the European throwers who were usually dominating the event : Poland , Hungary , Germany , France , they all were gone and the Chinese were not as good as they use to be. The hammer centre of the world is now somewhere between Canada and USA ! Canada made history by wining both men and women titles and USA was certainly happy to place two girls on the podium. Performance level was modest , compared to previous editions , you had to throw only 75m to make a medal , 72m to make top 8
