Tom WALSH ,in this championship was the last survivor of the 3 men who has dominated the world shot put scene these last 12 years (Crouser – Kovacs – Walsh ) . Whithout having the morphology of Crouser and the strength of Kovacs , WALSH has succeeded to build himself an impressive palmares in the main world competitions . In fact he is an exceptional competitor , losing sometimes some medals , but by infime margins . He is considered by many as the fastest man inside the shot put circle and has his technical signature with probably the best right leg swing among his adversaries . This fourth world indoor championship title will make history and was won at the expense of the American Geist, Steen ad Awotunde and of the Italian favourite Leonardo Fabbri  who where unable to go closer to their 22m+ PBs  when Tom was , again , at his best at the right time and scored a season best to win !!!

Top 3 was 21.49m , top 8 was 20.62m and you needed 20.30m to make the top 10 into the 4th round .
