Valarie ALLMAN , the big favourite , probably found it hard to swallow when her country mate Laulauga TAUSAGA did the same thing than the Chinese Bin FENG had done to her 2 years ago in Eugene. with basically the same level of performance and a final gap of only 26cm. Quite frustrating indeed , but you can do nothing against people who break their PBs by 4m in a big international competition. It is just their day and out of that TAUSAGA did confirm that her 69.49m throw was not just a lucky throw when she delivered another one sailing to 68.36m in her last attempt and before she also had the guts to save her skin in the 3rd attempt when she was only 12th with a quite ridiculous 52m and at risk to be eliminated ! Valarie did certainly not demerit and was at her best .  thinking to hold the competition solidly in her hands after her 1st attempt at 68.57m . She was certainly more afraid of the Chinese Bin FENG who was more menacing than her usual rival PERKOVIC , and she was right , as the Chinese finally finished very strong to tale the bronze with a best of 68.20m. Behind these favourite were the usual big names of the event , including the usual 3 German who were not really in contention for the medals this time. Unfortunately , the French Melina ROBERT MICHON did not make it this time for another final , finishing 9th and 13cm short of top 8. You had to throw 61.31m to pass the qualifications in top 12 and 63.59m to make it to the top 8.,
